Licensed Pharmacist · Medical Writer · Educator
I'm Heba Azzam, a licensed pharmacist and medical writer who turns dense clinical evidence into accurate, guideline-driven content across oncology, rare disease, endocrinology, and beyond. Now I'm bringing that voice into medical affairs and pharmaceutical research.
The short version
Not just a pharmacist. A scientific translator who bridges the rigor of clinical pharmacy with the craft of medical writing, on a deliberate path toward medical affairs.
What I do
Everything I do comes back to the same skill: making complex science understandable, credible, and useful for the people who need it.
Years of frontline practice across community, long-term care, and hospital settings: medication therapy management, drug utilization review, and patient counseling.
Agency-trained medical writing across CME, promotional, and disease-education content, engineered to be accurate, compliant, and genuinely clear.
Translating evidence for every audience, from KOLs and clinicians to field teams and patients, through decks, scripts, quizzes, and guides.
Therapeutic breadth
From rare oncologic emergencies to everyday cardiometabolic disease, I've researched and written across a wide range of therapeutic areas, getting fluent in each one quickly.
Selected work
A clinical special report on an onco-metabolic emergency
An 8-page special report distilling the pathophysiology, risk stratification, prevention, and multidisciplinary management of tumor lysis syndrome for an oncology clinician audience.
Featured in Journal of Clinical Pathways
A market-access guide connecting clinical diabetes care to the workplace
A 12-page guide helping employers and plan sponsors understand the clinical, financial, and human impact of diabetes, and the levers they hold to improve outcomes.
Featured in HMP Global Market Access
A field-medical training piece that turns pathophysiology into better rep and clinician conversations
A training module that equips pharmaceutical sales representatives to understand metabolic syndrome and hold more credible, clinically grounded conversations with healthcare providers.
Where I'm headed
My next chapter is medical affairs. I'm completing my PharmD in December 2026 and moving into medical affairs and pharmaceutical research, where the rigor of clinical pharmacy meets the craft of scientific communication. The goal is simple: connect emerging science with the clinicians and patients who depend on it.
Let's talk about what's nextWhether you're hiring for medical affairs, need a writer who gets the science right, or just want to connect, I'd love to hear from you.
